Default James Creighton 2 page woodcut - 11/04/1865 Leslie's Illustrated

A complete issue of the November 4, 1865 Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper

It features the full 2 page centerfold woodcut of James Creighton along with named images of 17 of the best NY area players of the day.

Also featured is a large image of the Oct 13th game between the Atlantic and Eckford clubs of Brooklyn at the Union Base Ball Grounds.

Also of note is the image on the centerfold at the right which is purported to be Henry Chadwick.

If you want more info about this piece, you can see the write up of one which was sold in the April 2016 REA sale:

As seen in the pictures, this one has some damage. A significant sized hole on the left side at the centerfold. It goes straight though all pages of the issue, having a smaller effect on the right side centerfold. See pictures.

The one in the REA acution had some tears and holes from a three-hole punch, one of which impacted Creighton's image. It sold for $960.

The images of all players in the offered issue below are unaffected by any flaw.

I am asking $650 $450, including postage and insurance. I will consider offers since it is difficult to assess how much the holes impact the value on a piece of this scarcity.
