That Cole trade is a real head scratcher. You trade a young pitcher under control for 2 seasons for......what exactly? A midling old prospect, a bad relief pitcher, and Joe Musgrove, one of the most hittable pitchers in the league with a pathetic 83 ERA+ (17 percent below average).
If the Yankees were serious about trading for Cole its hard to imagine they put together a package of less talent than that. |

They just traded McCutchen to..................for TBA apparently. LOL!
Beautiful park they play in to. Too bad they seem to have to blow up the team every few years. |

Its just an endless cycle with them... the rich get richer and the poor have to play their cards right and get lucky once or twice every half century. McCutchen was Pittsburgh baseball, the return was minimal.

Donnie - I understand your frustration. Hang in there.
But the reason I'm posting is that I really like your avatar! Boots Day is an all-time great guy. One of the true gentlemen in the game. |

I understand too and with some teams developing their own TV networks, it's only going to get worse. The revenue disparity is only going to widen and that's probably not good for the game.

Solution: Become a SD Pudres fan! LOL! Agreed. Mind boggling trade for some magic beans.

Also a Cardinals fan... Never liked the Pirates after they fleeced us on that Tony Pena trade!!
Just kidding, I actually really liked those Pirates teams of the late 80s & early 90s. If I remember correctly they one 3 straight NL East Titles not to long after VanSlyke, Dunne & Lavalierre came over from the Cards. And I agree with what the other poster said about having one of the best looking ball parks around. I hope things turn around for your team soon! Scott |
