Default 19th Century Early Baseball and Games Archive

About 10 years ago working with David Block's great book Baseball Before We Knew It I put together a archive of baseball related and early sports items from the 1800's. As seen below it consists of books, newspapers and school primers which lay out and early history of sports and baseball. I am considering selling as I have switched focus and really don't give this collection that much attention any more. I really am looking to sell as a whole or a majority. I will be happy to provide more details to anyone who has a serious interest. I am looking for 2500 delivered. This would be a great dealer lot or an instant collection

1. 1743-- September Issue of The Gentleman's Magazine with an article on the moral dangers of public cricket games

2. circa 1825 Sporting Anecdotes- no baseball but all other kinds of hunting and field sports

3. 1831 Horatio Smith Festivals Games and Amusements. American Edition with additional section on American games.

4. 1833-- Strutt The Sports and Pastimes of the People of England. Very nicely bound in newer leather

5. 1842--- Cobb's New Spelling Book - with bat and ball game frontispiece

6. 1844- Boy's Own Book English edition

7. Circa 1850 McGuffey's Eclectic Reader with bat and ball game image

8. Circa 1850 Webster The Pictorial Elementary Spelling Book.

9. Circa 1855 Sanders New Series School Reader First Reader - with 1/2 page image of boys playing bat and ball

10. Circa 1857 Boy's Treasury of Sports - American issues, much like Boys Own Book. Many of the images hand colored. No covers

11. 1859 - Boys Own Toymaker - complete but very rough

12 1860 -- The Bobbin Boy -- boy's adventure fiction with a few pages of description of baseball like game

13. 1864 The American Boy's Book -- the edition with all four chromolothographs

14. 1865 Uncle Nat - boy's adventure fiction with long disctription of baseball game with issue of whether you can throw ball at runner )

15. 1866 Lessons in Life -- a strange books with moral essays- one of which talks about whether women should play baseball and talks about the muscle development of slave women

16. 1867 - Bound Volume of Oliver Optics Magazine- many of the issues have some baseball coverage and one of the fiction stories has an image of a boy holding a bat to defend himself from robbers

17. 1868- Changing Base - early fiction with two plus chapters on baseball and one image of the game. The book is complete but in rough shape

18. 1868 The Time Bunkers Papers- collection of stories that ran in magazines. One is called on baseball clubs and runs 2 pages

19. 1868 Pycroft The Cricket Field -- London edition does NOT have the baseball images- but it does have a great early history of bat and ball games

20. 1875 The Harvard Book - giant folio about college life with long section on baseball with box scores and summaries. Photo of Jarvis field (though I think its cricket shown) Volume II only and front cover is detached - still well bound

21. 1888 Brawn and Brains - with instructions by famous players of many sports.

5. The Press 7-21-1967 - back page has multiple box scores

6. New York Times 9-5-1859 - front page with box score and summaOhiries

7. The Daily Graphic -- odd but wonderfull full page front woodcut image of political satire with Ohio governor candidates in full baseball uniform

8. New York Clipper - 1-4-1868 - office season so no boxes but some summaries including years stats for Red Sox

9. Various issues of Brooklyn Daily Eagle circa 1860-70
