Default 1925 World Series scored program, Pittsburgh at Wash., WaJo Game 4 shutout - SOLD

1925 World Series scored program, Pittsburgh Pirates at the Washington Senators (or Nationals, per the scorecard). The original owner of this program attended Game 4 of this World Series at Washington, DC, on October 11, 1925, and he scored this historic game in pencil on the scorecard which is in the center of this program. I say "historic" because Walter Johnson shutout the Pirates 4 - 0 in this game, the only shutout Johnson pitched in the two World Series in which he played. Walter Johnson holds the record for career shutouts during the regular season with 110, a record that most likely will never be broken. Washington scored all of its 4 runs in the 3rd inning, which included a 3-run home run by "Goose" Goslin (HOF) followed by a solo shot by Joe Harris.

This fairly scarce program is very seldom found in real nice condition, because it was not originally produced as a quality publication. This program has its condition issues (I have seen several worse examples), but it is complete, with 64 interior pages plus the covers. The front and back covers are rough (as you can see from the pics), and are completely separated from the interior pages. The 64 interior pages are chock full of wonderful photos of the Washington players and of MLB and team officials, as well as neat advertisements with scenes of DC in the 1920's. The interior pages are printed on cheap stock that did not hold up well over time; but the interior pages of this program are in surprisingly quite nice condition (no tears); however, pages 27-38 have come completely loose from the two staples that contained them, but they could be carefully re-attached to the staples (I have not tried to do this). $349 delivered. SOLD

Because I can't get my pics to load on Net54, here's the link to eBay where you can see 12 pics of this program: https://www.ebay.com/itm/35277601593...84.m1562.l2649
