I sent a pm on this. I think I owned this exact card.

I do not know that back story of this card. I plucked it from the 'net, the seller stated it was "clubhouse signed". I paid accordingly. Who knows for sure, I wasn't there when the pen hit the cardboard, looks convincing to me. Even if it a "clubhouse signature", it is a nice representation of this card and now in my collection. I just wanted others opinions on it, especially since there are some serious Clemente / early 1970s Pirate collectors out there. Thanks.

Who is Phil Dorsey, and what is his history?

Phil Dorsey was a good friend of Clemente. He ghost signed most of the TTM requests to Clemente. I would say starting in the early to mid 60s until his death.

So the above card was signed while Clemente was still alive?

I believe that the card wasn't a malicious forgery, but was a TTM request that was honored but ghost signed by Dorsey during Clemente's life, correct.

This is the only signed copy of this card I have ever seen. Since it was signed with Clemente's blessings, wishes, permission, etc.. that is Ok with me. Thanks to everyone who helped me put this into perspective.

It's the Hydrox of Clemente autographs - not the real deal, but close.
