Default T205 Minor League Back Question

I have purchased a T205 Merritt with Polar Bear Back.

My question for the group is that I know Minor Leaguers, for the most part from what I see, have the Hassan Back.

While I know Minor Leaguers have Hassan & Polar Bear, my question is, are the Polar Bear Backs any more scarce or not really?

Good question and I hope you see some firm numbers on your question. In my experience the breakdown of the 2 difference backs are pretty even so much so that I've never experienced price primeum of backs on any of the minior league cards.

The PBs may be slightly more difficult, but as John says, they shouldn't command any material premium.

Well, they are 4-5 times harder, so I'd say they are much more difficult. There is a whole class of Polar Bears that are much more difficult than the rest and can be identified by back groupings. But I agree that I've never seen a premium associated with them.

I agree - I feel like, for most T205 MLs, I see at least 3 or 4 Hassan 649s for every Polar Bear. But if there's a premium, it's not much.

Not much of a premium but ML Polar Bears are slightly more difficult. Very slightly (about 5-10%)...Mac is correct that they are included in a later grouping of Polar Bears that include some tougher single prints, the minor league cards are actually easier than those single prints as they were at least double printed on the tough sheet. I know...confusing.

Curious where the 5-10% comes from. Here are the master population totals from SGC:

https://gosgc.com/population-reports...20Master%20Pop

They generally show a rough 3 to 1 Hassan to PB ratio across all the Minor Leaguers I checked...Lee, Adkins, Collins, Cady.
