Default Has anyone ever won a sweepstakes?

Checking my Yahoo account and I received an email wanted me to go to a site, play a little trivia for a chance to win tickets to this year’s World Series. Has anyone (or do you know anyone) that won tickets to an event?

No tickets, but back in 1981, there was a contest in Philly, I think sponsored by one of the local newspapers, to give someone $3631 when Pete Rose set the NL hit record (previously held by Stan Musial with 3630). Rose tied the record against Nolan Ryan. He then struck out in his other 3 at bats to stay tied with Musial. Following the game, the players went on strike until mid-August. In the first game after the strike, Rose got a hit to break the NL record, and my barber was picked as the winner of $3631.

Unfortunately, the company that sells your information once you sign up is the only winner in these "sweepstakes".

Default No but……..

Never won a sweepstakes but I have had well over a billion dollars left to me by people in other countries like Kenya after untimely deaths in car accidents. With my busy schedule I haven’t followed up on these but it’s good to know that the money is there when I need it!

Not a sweepstakes but I won $20,000 in the Vermont lottery second chance contest. I also won a pair of tickets to see a Patriots/Jets game in a second chance drawing.

I have never won a sweepstakes but years ago at a National in Chicago I filled out a Hobby Questionaire to enter a Heritage drawing for a Mantle autographed Louisville Slugger bat with authentication letters. Couple of weeks later got a call from Chris Ivy saying I had won. I thought it was a joke but the bat arrived shortly thereafter.

In 1981 I won a raffle and the prize was a brand new Ford Mustang.

A couple of years ago I won $4,000 picking the correct score of a hockey game.
