Default Bret Favre Netflix "Untold: The FALL OF FAVRE"

I watched the doc on Netflix. I was aware of the some of the things he has been accused of, but Netflix made him look like the Devil himself. What does everyone think? He hasn't been convicted on anything, yet. However, Netflix basically accused him of everything from adultery to sexual harassment to stealing from the poor.

Whatever the case, not a good look. I wonder if he has any sponsors left.

I watched that documentary. It certainly left a bad impression. Stealing from welfare funds in Mississippi? It doesn't get much worse than that.

I thought it sent a decent message about athlete-hero worship. As for the sexual stuff, I dunno. He won't be the first or the last star QB to be less than a saint when it comes to the ladies. But the documentary achieved its intended goal, which was to make Favre look like a douchebag.

Yeah, if there is one pure, unadulterated douchebag in that documentary, it's the Deadspin guy. What a heel.

Ok, I can look over the sexual stuff. It appeals that sexuality was what she was selling and Favre was buying.

However, the fraudulent stuff in Mississippi is about as low as one can get. I love the State of Mississippi. The people there are genuine, real down to earth people. It is the poorest State in the United States. If Favre and the other players did it (everyone else has been convicted and awaiting sentencing), they should spend several years in lock up with the general population. Meet some of the relatives of the people they stole from.

As much as I loved Deadspin 15-20 years ago, I look back now and wish it never blew up in popularity as much as it did before its downfall. I'll give them credit for breaking some wild stories (Manti Te'o, Brett Farve, and the Hogan story that ultimately ended them) and they had some really talented writers early on, but I feel they bear a ton of responsibility for the toxic bro media that manifests personalities like Clay Travis, Dave Portnoy, and Pat McAfee into household names.

Yeah, it sucks, but nowhere near the damage done by cable news outlets choosing slanted bullshit over fact-based programming -- right around that same time. Once they all decided it was easier and cheaper to pay blowhard "contributors" than maintaining worldwide news bureaus, it was all over. Now, people just get shoveled the shit they want to hear, 24/7. Humanity is dumber for it.

That Bro Media is favored most by young teens/social media addicts -- tells you the general aptitude of the target audience.

As for the Favre doc, it was very thin. I had no idea he had a kid early in college -- they spent exactly one sentence on that.

Well, when I was stationed at the Naval Oceanographic Office, with a PO Box address of Bay St Louis, Ms, but in reality on Stennis Space Center north side of I-10, and right around the corner from the Kiln and Hancock High School, all the civilians talked about what a douche he was even in high school. True? Who knows.
