Default I really need to get some impulse control

Went to the LCS. Probably overpaid, but I've been eyeing the card a while. This one of my all-time favorite sets, so it's nice to finally have a card from it...even if it is someone who we would consider VERY not PC and problematic today!

We are collectors. We impulse buy. It's part of our DNA.
If that is a misprint, as it looks, that's really cool. I love that kind of card. Comgrats!

I think he's referring to the yellow on the left of the card. Looks to me like tape residue.

Correct.
These are from my last collection, I don't own them any longer. I was hoping it was like this Ferrell, but a bit less...

I’m not big on misprints/variations and the like….but that Ferrell is amazing!

I have Ferrell's personal copy of his Diamond Stars card which he gave me when I visited him at his condo. It's a huge regret that I didn't ask him to sign it for me.

Slow to impulse power, buy at warp speed. Just how it is as a card collector.

What is this 'impulse control' you speak of? I am not familiar with the term. Probably why my first ideas to name my eBay store were "The Festival of Bric-A-Brac" and "The Crapateria". My wife and daughter vetoed those. Hence "Adam's House of Cards and More".

It's too bad you deferred to them. "The Crapateria" has immediate, unforgettable brand recognition potential.

1933 Goudey cards with serious production issues are tough to come by, especially when compared to the T206 set. Here are a couple I have been able to snag over the years. They are no Rick Ferrell, but still fun and interesting.

I think too much impulse control has hampered my collecting.

I have 4 main collections, 2 of them with only 5-11 cards left to hunt down...one that only presents an opportunity for expansion randomly...and one that needs about 28 cards.

If I threw money at them, I would be almost finished, but I insist on getting "my price" that's relative to the current marketplace.

I want to expand into a new collection, but I have no interest that satisfies the desire to expand. My self control is leading to stagnation of new inventory.

That said, I highly enjoy and actively spend time with what I have. I've taken great care to not become addicted to the chase as much as I've taken great care to not throw money at something just to say I have it (unless it's something that very rarely comes around for sale).

Still, I'm on the lookout for another collection avenue to travel...
