He certainly didn't catch the ball like he said...but where it ended up is anybody's guess.

Is there a place where it could have landed where the fan would not be entitled to it? I thought it has been pretty well established that once it goes over the fence, it's not the Rays' or MLB's property.

I have no idea. I'd guess unless he went onto the field or into a bullpen it's fair game.

Likely overzealous security trying to score brownie points...but dude seemed slightly sketchy also.
