I picked up this large albumen cabinet recently which, I believe to be, is the 1885 Augusta team of the Southern League (aka Southern Association). The Southern League began in 1885 and Augusta won the title, albeit, controversially. The League faded away, I believe, in 1886 before returning in later years. I don't know much else about this team or league. This is the first photo I've seen from this league. Does anybody know any other information about this team or league?? |
