Default W-555 thread ...imposter

Posted By: leon

The thread was started by someone other than the person who it was purported to be. And so many people ask me why I ask them to email me privately. Now you know...Someone else can start another one, on W555's, if they want to. It's a shame as it was pretty good. Couldn't let it go though.....regards

No matter who started it, I thought it was interesting information.

Oh well...I'm sure we'll fire up some conversation about the set some other time.

When a good threat like comes up, is there a way to just delete the poster, or is that not possible if the person starts the thread?

Jay

I can't let someone impersonate Keith O on the board. I will not knowingly let anyone impersonate anyone else. I didn't really want to specifically even say who he was impersonating but feel no alternative after the several threads I just deleted. I banned that person last night, they must have found another computer...but I will keep blocking IP's until they find something better to do. Let's hope they aren't a school teacher or something with access to hundreds of computers. If that happens we might have to consider locking the board down more. I really, really don't want to do that though. It can be done if it gets too out of hand......we'll see....regards

There is no way to delete his login name...so even if I deleted his message it would still say his login name, which was not him, and confirmed by the real Keith. That's why I had to do what I had to do...I really didn't want to but had no choice.....

Figured as much. Too bad there isn't a way to save a thread like that when it's started up by someone that needs to be banned.

Anyone happen to save it. It never ceases to amaze me how often a thread gets saved. My little thread debacle is a perfect example. Never thought anyone would be saving it, but they did.
