I have seen other PSA slabs where it definitely looks like some weird plastic around the edges that has a tendency to wrinkle, which I'm guessing is what sets your teeth on edge. But I'm not seeing that feature with these slabs.

Then again, maybe when it comes to the red label, all you see is red.
