Any thoughts on a trickle down theory to a price increase for additional years of Koufax?

If these new price levels hold my guess is it will but not to the same degree. The type of collectors or investors pushing these high grade cards don't seem to have much interest in low grade stuff. But as some get price out of one grade competition for the next grade will go up.

But is this only applicable to rookie cards, or are these " investors " looking at other years as well?

It seems to me they are only buying a GRADE, and not the card. Most of us know that not all 9's are created equal. And 8's certainly aren't.

I don't see it affecting other years much, it's about rookie cards, except maybe for Mantle and marquee isecond year issues such as 52 Topps Mays. But who knows.

Just checked ebay and maybe this is interesting and maybe it isn't, but EIGHT high grade Mantle's were binned in the span of 15 minutes this afternoon. I don't know how to check the winning ID on a bin though.

I have a buddy that's been pestering me to upgrade my Koufax 7 to an 8 for the last couple of years. Maybe the price increases will shut him up:
