1952 and 1953 Topps Baseball wrapper values?

I'd personally have taken both the cards AND the wrappers - methinks the wrappers are more difficult to find - Note: perhaps the first buyer scored some high-octane cards, but it's inexcusable to leave these wrappers behind provided they, too, were ripe for the pickin' along with the cards.

That makes me think that whoever found the cards wasn't a "seasoned" collector. Imagine the local guys at your local auction house paying big money for a wax box of 1997 Topps. I'm betting it was someone like that who found them. It was someone who realized the old cards were worth a whole lot more money that the yard sale operator was asking for them, yet not savvy enough to pick up those old "worthless" wrappers.

The 1953's are really tough. I would like a 1953 if your friend decides to sell. You can PM me by my address. I've been watching ebay and have seen only 1-2 of the 1953 wrappers out there. I think the $400-$500 range is a good point for decent 1953's.....I missed one that sold at the recent national for $325.
