Fielding Ty Cobb Dietsche value rising quickly over the last year. Simular thing happened to the Gehrig 1925 Exhibit as the value soared quickly a few years back.

1907 Dietsche Fielding Cobb. It's Cobb, it's a "Rookie" year issue, low supply ( 12 graded by PSA) and high demand. Should be priced as high as some of those Ruth cards . Next $100K card , if in higher grade ??

How would you guys rank the ’07 Cobb postcards in terms of desirability?

My thoughts… (excluding a number of team cards)
1. Seamless Steel Tubes
2. Wolverine News Portrait
3. Dietsche Cobb Fielding
4. Wolverine News Fielding
5. HM Taylor (Batting)
6. Dietsche Cobb Batting (‘07 version only)

I like this list, probably how I would rank them too. Wolverine batting is a bit rarer than the fielding Dietsche I believe. However, the fielding seems like a more liked image.

I’ve been shocked how much the Dietsche batting has shot up on some recent sales too! The Dietsche ones see more sales because of more supply, wonder where either of the Wolverines would be at now if at auction (Both Wolverines exceedingly tough)?

i agree with this order...not sure why the seemless gets so many ooohs and ahs...its rare...but pretty ugly imo????

I agree. The Steel Tubes is Cobb’s second most important “rookie” card after the W600. Its a bad ass pose, and it’s rare as hell. Imagine if there were a 1916 Babe Ruth postcard with him in that pose. The team pc is going for a fortune as it is. An ultra-rare 1916 PC with only Ruth on it, especially in that pose, would go for an absolute fortune.

I basically agree with your list. I would just switch around the Wolverine Portrait and the Dietsche Fielding.

To me, the Seamless Steel Tubes is clearly the best of the group. I love the unique pose - Cobb standing there in full uniform holding his bat in one hand and his glove in the other. It is also, by far, the scarcest of them all.

I agree with this list completely. But what about the Novelty Cutlery Cobb? Was that one issued later than these? I thought it was a 1907-1909 issue as well.

And while we're commenting on the aesthetics of these cards, am I the only one who finds the Dietsche Cobb Fielding to be incredibly goofy? And I have an SGC 3.5, but every time I look at it I wonder, "how did Ty feel about wearing a uniform that looks all white?"

Novelty Cutlery is a great-looking card but was issued several years after the others.

I'm embarrassed to say that I once had a nice copy of the Cobb fielding (and batting) postcards that I sold for under $2000 each. If the fielding one gets to $100k it will vault to near the top of my worst (unfortunately not the top).sales ever.

I haven't had the fielding pose to regret selling yet, but I think I sold my batting pose for about $350 and one of the 1907 team postcards for $250.
