Default A Saturday afternoon in November was approaching...

I'm not a "writer", but I did major in English at Tulane in the 80's. Do your readers want to hear about my unfinished Abner Dalrymple pose run? 250 words or less, double-spaced. Items I read from wikipedia type sources like..."1st batter given an intentional walk, with the bases loaded?"

Honestly, it doesn't have to be all facts about him. I'm also looking for stories about why people collected certain cards or memorabilia. I can write Pirates history articles all day everyday if that's all I needed, but with contributions I'm looking for something different from the articles.

Dalrymple was the first batter for the Alleghenys in the National League, so he has some history behind him. That's an automatic hook, so it's about as much of a history intro that he needs before you get into the collection part of the article.

Please check out my books on baseball history. They include the bio of star second baseman Dots Miller. A book featuring 20 Moonlight Graham players who got into just one game. Another with 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never played a game. There's also one about 27 baseball families, as well as a day-by-day look at the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates history. All five can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/John-D...hor/B0DH87Q2DS

It was an honor for John to ask me and fun to participate. I haven’t written anything recently other than helping my wife with her Health and Phys Ed PowerPoint presentations for remote learning!
