Default Finally complete!

Hi all, I've looked on with admiration at the rooms on this post over the last number of years. While my collection pales in comparison to the quality I've seen out of many of our members, I've been able to finally at least move mine out of spare rooms and storage closets. I completed the renovation of the shed behind our house this weekend, which was a major project as my brother and I did all the flooring, ceiling, and woodwork ourselves. While I've barely had a chance to get much on the shelves, I look forward to many years of filling it up!

Ryan,

That's a shed?!
That is the greatest shed in the history of sheds!

I love all that you've done, especially the ceiling. The displays look amazing too, we might need to see a few closeups.

Well done!

Damn, I have a lawn mower and some grass seed in my shed. Ryan, that is absolutely the most kick-ass shed of all time. Well done.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the kind words.

I'm very fortunate, my grandfather built the shed for my grandma back in the early 90s for all her auction buys, so I had the benefit of working from its bones. I included some before pictures below. Unfortunately 12 years of sitting empty before my wife and I moved in meant it needed a new furnace, air conditioning, insulation, doors & windows, etc., but it was a fun vision to execute.

I posted a picture of the finished outside as well. Total building is 32x40, with the baseball room being about 30x32. The small room in the back I dedicated to some military history so I can share that with some of the high school kids I teach. I'll include some pictures of that also for any history folks on here.

As for the bar, Rob... I do have a two-tap kegerator in the barn next door with a bar, but the best I can do in here is keep the old coke cooler in the storage room stocked!

You are going to easily win the award for best shed. Unbelievable! I can’t imagine having that much space for stuff. Congratulations.

That looks more like a guest cottage than a shed. Very impressive. Great job having multiple interests like that. I used to collect Civil War ephemera and give lectures so I know how important visuals are.
