</div>You're spot on with that comment.  I remember the late-80s hype surrounding Jeffries.  Fielding ground balls - that were wrapped in electrical tape - on an asphalt surface / taking BP swings while standing in a swimming pool.  These things would have "gone viral" on YouTube and "broken the Internet" back then.<br />
