Perhaps, but they made more sense than the big honkin' hats the players are wearing today.

Oh, and you will never, not ever, find a shot of Sunny Jim Bottomley where his hat is sitting straight on his head.

I've always thought, if you're going to wear a hat in summer, have it serve the purpose of the visor blocking the sun. Rader is wearing his like a tiara.

Possibly so he could sell advertising on his forehead?
