It often seems to be the case that once a USPS package goes off course, it stays there for a while. That said, the trip out to Colorado is remarkable.

I once sent a certified letter with some original documents that literally disappeared for two months, reappeared in the destination city (LA), pinged back and forth between LA and (of all places) Sacramento for a week, and then finally got delivered to the WRONG ADDRESS lol but fortunately the person contacted the addressee who picked it up.

On the other, it was one of those huge Team pics that was auctioned on the front page. I sent it out within a few days and sometime later (3 weeks'ish) the winner asked about it. I tracked it and it only showed, in transit. I told him I would go ahead and refund him (it was a small amount but still) and he said just wait. Quite some time later (maybe a month) he said he finally got it. Stuff happens. .

Halftime report:
Thread gets started about a lost package from a deal on the BST. Multiple rants by the OP. The board gets drawn in more. Leon gets drawn in to mediate. Tracking history is provided by Leon. Seller's name never gets disclosed. Seller pops in, anyway. Nobody involved will clarify if tracking was ever provided. Seller offers refund and OP rejects it. All over $15...

Why don't you do us all a favor, and drop effing dead. Clear the ear wax. It isn't about the money. It's about the cards. Who cares what they cost, other than you. They were 6 1948 Bowman cards the seller was basically giving away. If it was a $15M 52 Mantle, would that make it more relevant to you. Stop the nonsense, stop being a bottom feeder jackass please.

It appears good communication from the start from the seller (and during the shipping process) could have prevented the buyer from getting rightfully frustrated.
I recently made a forum purchase from Seablaster and he provided tracking right away (without me having to ask first) and let me know, that he feels he is responsible for the package until it arrives to the buyer. In my opinion, that kind of seller experience on here is A+ and something everyone should provide. On the other forum I am a member of, I have also made it a point at times to send a message to the buyer during shipping, letting him or her know that I am actively tracking the package and am aware of its location (or delay). It helps quell most concerns of the buyer when he or she knows you care. Last edited by Apple_Robert; 03-30-2025 at 01:03 PM. |

I'll take "It's the principle" for $15, Alex.
Personally, if I feel ripped off, I am going to say something, $15 or $1500. James didn't put Ocatavio's name out here. He was just pissed at the situation. I think there were some miscommunications, or human error, and will just leave it at that. It doesn't matter a whole lot. (it can be argued, but I won't care )The cards were shipped on time and USPS is a joke on this one. To clarify too, yes, if a member asks for a tracking number, and tracking was to be provided in the shipping (how can it not be?), then it should be given to the buyer. Both are good members. Happy collecting! .

The card is taking a short Fat Ass Herzog tour, but without the pictures.
At this point it's like that scene in Happy Gilmore when he takes that miniature golf shot and everyone's eye's are watching it bounce from one point to the next. Jim - hopefully you have the tracking information now. You just missed Happy's initial hit from the hockey stick putter. . . . .

I don't give a flying fk if its over $1.50, refusing to promptly forward tracking information when asked is bad form to say the least. Seems like this long time board member just went out of his way to pick a fight that could have been defused in 15 seconds.

You still may get your cards.
I recently purchased an item on eBay. Seller was in Iowa. I’m in Illinois. Took a month to arrive. The path it took was pretty amazing: Iowa to South Dakota to Puerto Rico to Florida to Indiana and finally to Illinois.

Let's make this a "Show us your 1948 Bowman cards" thread. I believe I have 4 or 5. Here is my laminated (with sliced top border) Ralph Kiner.

An awesome member and I are going through a similar situation; my man has been on it since the get go. He put an insurance claim in about a week ago. Package has been MIA since 2/24. Do these things ever turn up out of the blue? Since the claim went in, I can’t track the package any more. Kind of sad. A 115 year old card winding up in some facility In Philadelphia

Uhhh...just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...take a look at this. Yes, Octavio's package WAS marked as "Out For Delivery". But I think whoever received it realized it wasn't for them, and now it's back in circulation again. This beats anything:

You previously reported they had been DELIVERED. Was there a scan showing an actual delivery? Out for delivery is not the same thing. That just means it was given to the carrier.

If I said delivered, I misspoke. But I think it did get delivered, and whoever received it did as I have done when someone else's mail is in my mailbox. I write "not at this address" on it, put it back in the mailbox, and the carrier takes it away.
