If Koufax is #187 then he is in the 2nd Series 111-198, that’s the series with Mantle and there are plenty of pics of that sheet online.

Ahh tcdb was wrong then, they said “Distributed as a First Series (#1-88), Second Series (#89-176), Third Series (#177-264), Fourth Series (#265-352), Fifth Series (#353-440) and Sixth Series (#441-495). #145 does not exist.

Hmm the Series 3 checklist does show Koufax on there https://www.baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/1958_Topps

Trust me, 1958 Series 1 is 1-110, Series 2 is 111-198, Series 3 is 199-286.

All of the checklists from 1958 to 1966 advertise the 1st Series as 1-88, but in reality they were 1-110 or 1-109. They didn’t fix it until 1967.

On purpose-a little preview of each series was easily done this way. Mot sure why they changed in 1967, it would have worked going forward until they hit 1970 I'd say. Here's a chart I think I posted a while back, sorry for the FUBAR formatting:
