Now Schmidt goes down, needs Tommy John. The Yankees are a real mess. The Captain looks all too human, once again. When he's hot, he's hot, but when he's not...the whole team follows. And they do this every year. Cruising along, leading the AL East, then, suddenly, they implode into the All-Star break. The current Steinbrenner ownership, Boone, the lack of depth, the used up farm system, the whole thing looks like a true disaster.

Judge has actually been hitting great again lately - 10 for 18 with 4 homers and 9 walks in his last six games - but his helpless weeks were scary.

Schmidt's injury really hurts - he'd been doing so well, too: 28 straight scoreless innings. And we need him; the Yanks' hitting has actually been just fine this week, it's the pitching that's been killing them.

I don't think the Yankees are a disaster - I think we have a good team. Just hope the Yankees start playing like it soon.

They did try. Seems like he wanted to go to the Mets.

Maybe the Yanks can make a trade for an overpaid, oft-injured veteran to join the likes of Paul Goldschmidt, Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu, Carlos Carrasco, Carlos Rodon, Anthony Rizzo, Josh Donaldson, Corey Kluber, Jacoby Ellsbury, Carl Pavano, Kevin Youkilis…….etc, etc.

Maybe the Yankees need a genuine tank job so they can get a draft pick in the top 5 for once in the last 50 years instead of being the re-tread capital of baseball.
