I believe PSA had/has a policy where they will reholder a damaged slab maintaining the same grade...is this true????
I have a damaged sgc slab i would like replaced...it's an older grade and I doubt the card would receive the same grade today which would be the difference of thousands of dollars. Any thoughts??? |

It is a case by case thing. It depends on if the damage to the slab could have caused damage to the card or if the case was damaged enough that the card could be swapped out.

I've never had any trouble sending in damaged slab for a re-holder. But mine haven't been in the price range of your card.

I had a good experience having them reslabbing a ~2K card. As pointed out, obviously it's case by case, but my sense with both PSA and SGC is that if the case is not cracked enough to appear to potentially affect the card inside, they will reslab at same grade. I've done it maybe 10 times and never had a grade changed.
