Another slight miscut here. E90-1 Groom with his neighbor peeking in a little.

I sure wish this card was miscut on the back, instead of the front!

This is a pair of 1940 Playballs that my Dad used as shooters. He and his Schoolmates would play a game like pitching pennies. You stood behind a line and tossed or shot your card toward a wall and whoever was closest won the cards. If you tossed a leaner you would win 2 cards. He trimmed these down to make it easier to grip the card. He grew up poor but had a nice card collection including a complete set of 1941 Playballs. So he must've been pretty good.
The second photo is the basic grip he showed me. We played around with these and a couple other beat up 39 / 40 playballs. 2 of My Favorite cards. |

Popping in here with a just-post-war Japanese card(s).
JCM 50: 1949 Red Border S.F. Seals Tour But clearly the kid wanted a round menko instead of a rectangular menko. Top left is Gene Brocker, top right is/was hall-of-famer Victor Starffin, bottom left is Arky Vaughan, bottom right is Michio Nishizawa

Brian - that O'Toole looks to be from the m113 poster ads that ran from June 1912 thru Nov 1913 in Baseball Magazine

I still can't believe that this one is actually labeled as "Auth - Miscut", but it's the gem of my small collection.
