Speaking of woodcuts, the current Barry Sloate auction has a 1865 Leslie's Illustrated 'Jim Creighton' Woodcut. This is generally regarded as the most desirable 19th century magazine woodcut, and is one of the few (and probably only nearing affordable) 1860s Jim Creighton item. And, yes, the fold down the center was 'factory issued.' |
