Collect by team: what team and why?

I am more of a set and player collector but my friend only collects St. Louis Cardinals. He has about 90% of all Cardinals from 1909-present. His dad always talked about gathering around the radio and listening to the games. He was a huge comic book collector and I gave him some vintage Cardinals years ago and he got hooked, probably hasn't bought a comic in almost 10 years. I love looking at the progression from prewar to modern day. Good luck with your Yankess and Pirates !!
