Joe D would know this better than I do, but all of the type-setting and layout for this would have been done strictly by hand and that might account for differences in variations of the margins. I know years ago, the department store I worked for still set up and pasted up, all our ads in house. If a copy block and/or photo slipped while being transported to the newspaper, well, they printed it that way. (Tim - Better?)

Brian - you can probably post that Obaks sheet as much as you want. I can't imagine I'd ever get tired of seeing it.
I think next year I need to go into REA with a bit more of a plan - some specific target items ahead of time and then a large group of fall-back items. Usually I just bid on things I like in general and see what happens in Extended Time. J |

There are also 3 and 5 card panels out there. I think Leon or Dan S might have a couple, if not others. |

I'm assuming that the PSA 8 Ty Cobb D304 that sold in Saturday's REA auction for $80,000 before the BP, was the same card that Goodwin sold about a year or so ago for $260,000.
Is this correct? Tony |

Yikes! According to VCP it's one in the same. How do you write-off $160,000??? Lovely Day... Correction.... the one in Goodwin sold for $272,980.00 with BP.... Double Yikes!!! Last edited by iggyman; 05-03-2010 at 05:38 PM. |

Did a board member end up getting lot number 297?
i was willing to go up to 15K.. and that was already more then I could afford... but 20K after the premium was too rich for my blood.. if the winner is a board member I would be interested in several pieces. Jamie |

This card sort of jumped out at me when I first browsed the auction online, but I figured that it would sell for more than I wanted to pay. When I woke up on the couch at 3:30 a.m. Sunday and saw what it was at, I decided to enter one bid and one bid only. Luckily it was the high bid, and just as fortunately, Jeff P. decided not to pull the trigger again. Even though it's not a Lajoe, I'm pretty thrilled to add a card to my collection that I never thought I would.

Don't worry, Jim, there are actually other people in the hobby that are concerned about some of the funny stuff that goes on in auctions. But I promise not to make any more trouble because I don't want to make you sad, ok?
Edited to add: And it actually sold for 273K. Sorry!

I picked up this Cracker Jack lot along with some T205s. I thought the price of the lot was too good to resist... and I'm really hoping that PSA didn't miss a trim job on a few of these.
