Utilizing one of the "inflation calculators" available on the internet, it appears that a dollar in 1946 would be worth approximately eleven dollars today. By the looks of it vintage cards have outpaced inflation in a huge way.

I bought my first T205s from Wirt in 1976 after seeing a complete set at my first card show. I remember thinking on the drive home from the show that the dealer that had the set for $200.00 was "nuts."

Wirt not only wrote for the SCD but ran ads offering T205s & T206s at nice prices but his choice of cards, not yours.

He also wrote a nice history of the Chattanooga Lookouts.
