This word always makes me check out a listing: L@@K .........................not Edit: Peter beat me to it, I wouldn't say I search using any buzzwords, but I do search for items placed in wrong categories. Always hoping no one else has seen it (wishful thinking), waiting to the last second to place my bid, then seeing: "Sorry, you have been outbid" Last edited by docpatlv; 03-09-2012 at 11:57 AM. |

I like when people offer a best offer / buy it now and say it's for $2k and after they decline your offer of $1500 they counter with $1980 and talk about how they won't go lower. Why even have that option if you're willing to only drop it a couple bucks. I also appreciate the "rare" word when talking about a card that has 30+ listing on ebay at the same time.

Really? I always heard the opposite about him. Here's what might be happening: Someone doesn't like the high BIN, so rather than making a legitimate offer, they try to 'make a point' by offering something ridiculously low. The seller responds by countering with the BIN or a dollar less - his own 'point' right back at you. The high BIN thing is somewhat of a game that ebay has forced on sellers. If it didnt work, I'm sure 707 SC would try something different. I was called some of the worst filth I've read on the internet the last time I mentioned questionable ebay seller habits - I'll spare you the redneck vernacular Sorry about getting off-topic a little. edited to add: regarding 707, make a fair offer if you see something you like - I've been told that he, specifically, is very open to fair offers.

Scott, I've never had any problem with my best offers to 707 either. I actually found them to be pretty reasonable to work with...I will admit that they're BINs are somewhat high, but agree that if it's been working for them, then who am I to complain. Quote:

If it happens to be that he does that to prove a point then I guess that can explain to same counter offer. I really hate when people get offended when I make a lowball offer, I am not trying to be a jerk I just want to save money. I have had experiences attempting to make deals with board members and they got upset at some of my offers, I had to beg for them to come back and talk to me LOL. The negotiating price thing makes me nervous, I wish it would be as smooth as Pawn Stars and no one got offended . But now that you guys told me you had good experiences with 707, perhaps I will give it another shot. There is one of his items I have been drooling over and it's not priced super high, just too high, maybe I will try an offer and see what happens, then if he takes it. I'm glad I brought this up because now I got some good advice, I hope it works. Wish me luck with my offer. |
