Curious... My memory is clouded... Did Mr Burdick donate this card to the Hall? Or at least one of the Wags?

I thought it was Halper but I could be wrong.

Looks ex - ex+ to me. Halper sold it to the HOF (or maybe MLB who donated it). He gave them first dibs on his collection before publicly auctioning the rest.

Yes -- but Halper did not donate it! I think Halper sold it to MLB, and MLB donated it to the Hall.

Its been awhile since I have been, but I remember the Wagner being in lesser condition. I haven't seen this copy. The one I remember had rougher corners and a pinhole on top as memory serves me. Just seeing it reminds me of when I went to the Louvre in Paris and saw the Mona Lisa. I have been to the HOF 3 times and will always go back.

This is the copy that Lipset auctioned in the early 80's. Mastro bought it for $25,011. When Mastro acquired the Piedmont "8", he sold this one to Halper. When Halper sold his collection, MLB bought a portion of the collection (as I recall $8 million worth) and donated it to the HOF. This example was included in that sale. IMO, it is one of the top two examples known (the other one NOT being the "8").
